Jennifer was the party mom for my son Stephen's class at school this year. Her middle daughter Claire is one of my son Stephen's class-mates. Jennifer did a wonderful job planning several fun parties this year, and I've enjoyed getting to know her during all the party set-up and take-down times throughout the year.
I was thrilled when Jennifer asked me to take pictures for Claire's first communion a few weeks ago.
First communion is a major milestone in a young Catholic child's life. It has been an important part of Jennifer's faith heritage for many, many years. The veil you see in the sepia toned image below belonged to Jennifer's mother who wore it to her own first communion. Jennifer later wore it to hers. Claire's older sister wore it as well, and now it is sweet Claire's turn. In a few short years, their youngest daughter Caroline will complete the family tradition...until it's time for their children to do the same.
Jennifer wanted to celebrate this sacred occasion and special family tradition by surprising her mother with these images for Mother's Day. It was such a pleasure to be a part of the surprise!
Getting a little loving in from her sisters...
I can't sign off without sharing this adorable picture of Claire's younger sister Caroline. Alden is looking forward to starting Kindergarten and cheer-leading with this cutie in the Fall. Here's hoping they'll be in the same class!
It's such a blessing being at a school with so many wonderful families like theirs!
Congratulations, Claire! I was honored to document this special time in your family's life.
