Buckle your seat belts, everyone. You're in for a ride. This post's a long one...
Erika, Brian, Isaac, and Moriah are about to welcome another little one into their family. Baby #3 is due in a few weeks. Last week Erika was already having contractions and even spent the night in the hospital with a false alarm. Erika was just a tad worried she'd have the baby before our session. Thankfully, her doctor released her from bed-rest so were able to her squeeze her family maternity session in this weekend. And, boy am I glad we did. We get some really fun shots!
In preparing for this session I came across a few crazy ideas that I wanted to try, and I'm thrilled to report that these guys were game for my silly antics. It was so much fun to put my own spin on a few of those ideas, and I'm really loving how everything came out.
I wanted to start this sneak peak with a few pictures of the lady of honor and her sweet baby bump. I'm amazed at what great shape Erika is in! I just love her belly!
I'd seen the classic black and white tape measure shots on other photographer's sites before and really wanted to create a similar image for Erika's gallery. But, I also wanted to make it my own. So, when Erika mentioned that Isaac liked to act, the creative juices started flowing and I thought I'd throw a little drama into the shot.
"Tadda"...a STAR is born! (Watch out Macaulay Culkin!)
I have to say, that shot was really fun!
But, these were WAY more fun! (Thanks Brian for making the CVS run for us!)
Even Daddy pitched in!
Finger paints make the world a better place! Don't you think?
I'll leave you with what might be this family's very last Fantastic Four family portraits. There was this teeny tiny patch of grass (the grassy knoll as Brian reffered to it) on the bank of a little pond. Add in a little golden sunset lighting, and you've got yourself some creamy, dreamy family shots.
I can't wait to meet your little guy or gal, Brian and Erika! Congratulations! Thanks for making this session such a blast.
This last one's for you, Isaac! You ROCK!!!!
Wow, I just realized it had been a while since I checked your blog last. What great photos you've been taking! This session is awesome! I love the fingerpainting. What a great way to get the kids involved and have what I am sure was sooooo much fun! Fabulous composition-as you always do, in the bw image of mom on the steps. It's perfect! Great job Tammy! This family is so blessed!
